As winter thinks about turning to spring these people are thinking of new growth and future blooming:

Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson has been appointed to the House of Lords and will henceforth be known as Baroness Grey-Thompson; Professor Laura McAllister has become the new chair of the Sports Council for Wales; Kim Atkinson, described as “dynamic and enthusiastic” and currently the chief operating officer with Scottish Squash, will be appointed as the new policy director of the Scottish Sports Association with effect from late March, filling the shoes of Chris Robison who joined SportScotland in February; Alexandre Fourtoy, currently head of UEFA media technologies, is to become their communications director, while Alasdair Bell, previously a partner at London law firm McDermott Will & Emery, has been appointed UEFA’s legal director. Neil McKechnie has recently joined specialist leisure and sport development company Createability, taking on the role of business development director.

 

Who’s looking for whom

And these people are looking to graft some new talent on to their existing stems:

The board of the English Federation of Disability Sport has just concluded a review of their organisation and is now recruiting an executive team consisting of directors of corporate services, innovation and development and partnerships, all at £45,000 to £50,000 but based in Loughborough; Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust are in the market for a technical officer who isskilled in landscape design with a sound knowledge of horticultural practices and the ability to develop and communicate innovative solutions to parks and green space problems, although at a maximum salary of £23,942 they might have to cut their coat; jewel in the crown of professional football franchises in Australia, Sydney Rovers FC, whose fans crave and deserve a world-class club, find themselves in need of a chief executive officer; Legoland in Windsor needs an £80,000 pa general manager but be sharp the closing date is 3 March; if you think pubs are “units” Punch Taverns need you to be their general manager and help them identify, understand and give priority to satisfying guest needs; and Sport Structures can get you a job in Dubai coaching football.
